Zootopia: Equality and Anti-Discrimination
Disney does not seem to run out of creative ideas to make quality films that are packaged into simple animated stories but contains deep meaning implicit in the story. By picking up one of Disney’s classic stories, and carrying the story of animal life — precisely humanizing animals, then comes Zootopia, which was released a few days ago.
Zootopia tells of the lives of animals in which their ancestors had solved dichotomous problems due to natural laws; namely equality – precisely the equalization between predatory animals and prey animals. In other words, the Zootopia republic is a republic where the food chain no longer applies to animals. All are peaceful, safe, happy and highly educated.
Equality and anti-discrimination are the main messages in this film. And what really inspires this film, lies in the existence of Judy Hopps who wants to change the views of the zootopia people, that we can make a difference without discrimination, so that it leads to change.
